Urban Meadow: Ballet Birthday Katie

It took me about 2 minutes to read this song from king David's pen. of warriors surrounding the man whom they believe to be Gods's choice for king, sitting in the depths of a dark, damp cave. They knew that their king was praising the King of all kings. They had seen multiple times how God always delivered when David praised God.

Three words, force field model, came to mind as soon as I read about the plans to decrease terrorist's ability to use the internet and increase moderate voices. Kurt Lewin, one of the pioneers of applied psychology, developed the force field model as a way to understand change in organizations. The theory goes that every situation has two sets of factors playing on it. At this point the social scientist attempts to identify what factors are helping and which are hindering change, then the scientist works to increase the strength of the helping factors and decrease the strength of the hindering factors. Once these changes are made and the equilibrium is lost the situation will change and more closely resemble the scientist's goal state.I believe using a series of nested force field models, the I/O psychologist can take the large factors that are influencing the situation and break them down step by step until root causes are identified. By repeating these force field models the I/O psychologist can effectively find the root causes of the complex initial situation. In the case of the war on terror, the I/O psychologist would be looking at the current state of terrorist networks and seeing what is supporting terrorist's ability to harm innocents and what is hindering or could hinder their ability to carry out attacks. Using a third force field model it becomes clear that two of the factors supporting rich donor's ability to support international terrorism are the donor's sources of wealth and their desire to help terrorists.

Katie and I decorated them in the morning with pink icing and mini m&ms. Katie was first a little disappointed with the m&ms because she was expecting Minnie m&ms, as in Minnie Mouse. But she was happy once she got to help put them on the cupcakes, one for her, one for the cupcakes.By the way, parents/caregivers aren't allowed in this ballet class so this is about the closest you get to seeing the action.
